On June 11, talks began between AUPE Local 039 and SAIT for a new collective agreement. Both sides exchanged initial proposals. It was agreed we would look at contract language first, followed by monetary issues. The employer disclosed an expected two per cent cut in some areas. However, it was unclear how this will be administered. It's important to note SAIT does remain in good financial shape. AUPE Local 039 and SAIT are currently considering proposals. Buses will leave from Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Grande Prairie and Calgary. Each bus will stop at AUPE designated areas along the way only if required.
