AUPE's Constitution contains the rules by which our Union is governed and is structured to give the membership democratic control over the Union's decision making process.
Examples include the objectives of the Union, types of membership, duties and responsibilities of the Executive Officers, Committees, Chapters, Locals and Area Councils.
The Constitution can only be amended by a majority vote of not less than two-thirds of Convention delegates.
Union Stewards should have a copy of the Constitution on hand to answer any member's questions. A copy of the most recent Constitution is available from Regional Offices or AUPE's Web site, www.aupe.org.
